HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jason Hoots, a seventh grader at Greenfield Junior High School in Greenfield, on placing first in the 200m at the 2024 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 1A 7th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS, While placing first, Jason Hoots additionally broke the state record in the 200m with a time of 24.75 seconds; and

WHEREAS, Jason Hoots also competed in the 100m, where he placed second with a time of 12.60 seconds, and the long jump, where he placed third with a distance of 17 feet and 0.75 inches, a personal record; and

WHEREAS, Jason Hoots is the son of Jeffrey and Megan Hoots; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jason Hoots on his accomplishments at the 2024 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 1A 7th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet, and we wish him continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jason Hoots as an expression of our esteem and respect.
