HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Robert "Bob" Chiappetta on the occasion of his retirement as a firefighter and paramedic with the Grayslake Fire District; and

WHEREAS, Bob Chiappetta began his career as a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 1993, becoming a paramedic in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Bob Chiappetta became a member of the Lake County Honor Guard in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Bob Chiappetta was named the 2019 Firefighter of the Year for going above and beyond in fulfilling his duties and for advocating for the RTF program, which provides training for active shooter situations; and

WHEREAS, During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bob Chiappetta served as a member of the Emergency Response Team tasked with vaccinating the community; and

WHEREAS, Bob Chiappetta has always found joy in serving his community, day or night, and has expressed plans to continue doing so in the future; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Robert "Bob" Chiappetta on his retirement as a firefighter and paramedic with the Grayslake Fire District, and we commend his dedication and service to the community of Grayslake; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bob Chiappetta as an expression of our esteem and respect.
