HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Ellyn Ross for her 20 years of dedicated service to the Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District (CCSD) 102 Board of Education; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross has dutifully served as board president of the Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 Board of Education since April 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was a standing member of all board committees, and she was deeply involved with the Finance Committee and Policy Committee; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was an active member of the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Lake Division, where she served as Chair; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross faithfully attended the Triple I conference in Chicago annually to advance her learning and connections with board members and board presidents; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross fostered a strong, trusted relationship with the district superintendent and was available at any time, day or night; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was a fierce advocate for social emotional learning, equity, and the whole child; and

WHEREAS, During Ellyn Ross' tenure, three of the four schools within Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 were honored with National Blue Ribbon status; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was instrumental in healthy, productive contract negotiations with the Aptakisic Education Association; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross organized special annual events honoring the assistants and nurses of Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross welcomed new district staff in August and bid farewell to graduating eighth graders in May with inspirational, heartfelt speeches; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross demonstrated a strong and unwavering commitment to student and staff safety and well-being; and

WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross' last meeting as a member of the Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 Board of Education will be held on April 24, 2023; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Ellyn Ross for her 20 years of dedicated service to the Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District (CCSD) 102 Board of Education, and we thank her for her unwavering commitment to the students and the district; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ellyn Ross as an expression of our esteem and respect.
