SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of June Marilyn Mingus of Mapleton, who passed away on May 2, 2020; and

WHEREAS, June Mingus was born in Peoria to Lloyd and Elizabeth (Edens) Grage on July 2, 1931; she married Walter Lloyd Mingus in Peoria on March 28, 1950; and

WHEREAS, June Mingus was a homemaker; and

WHEREAS, June Mingus was devoted to her faith and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria; she belonged to the Femmes Unir Bartonville Women's Club for many years; she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and cat, Priscilla; she will be remembered as an inspiration and blessing to all who knew and loved her; and

WHEREAS, June Mingus was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Jr.; and

WHEREAS, June Mingus is survived by her husband, Walter Lloyd Mingus; her children, Dave (Candra) Mingus, John (Debra) Mingus, and June (Joseph) Bembenek; her grandsons, Seth, Jonathan, Adam, and Johnathan "Gus"; and her great-grandchildren, Julia, Maks, Jolie, Kate, Jackson, Lincoln, and Lucille; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of June Marilyn Mingus and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of June Mingus as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
