| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Spencer William Lewis of Alton, who | 4 |
| passed away on November 16, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Spencer Lewis was born September 29, 1947, in | 6 |
| Alton to William D. and Freda (Budd) Lewis; he and the former | 7 |
| Martha Paddock were married on May 30, 1970, at St. Mary's | 8 |
| Catholic Church in Alton; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He served his country in the United States Air | 10 |
| Force and was employed at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, | 11 |
| retiring in 1994; he then went to work as a project manager for | 12 |
| General Dynamics in Iraq; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Spencer Lewis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 14 |
| Church in Alton and a member of the Alton Knights of Columbus; | 15 |
| and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, William | 17 |
| Lewis, and his father-in-law, Warren Paddock; and

In addition to his wife, Martha, surviving are his | 19 |
| mother, Freda Lewis; his two daughters, Marcy Lewis and Mandy | 20 |
| Lewis; his two sons and a daughter-in-law, Pat and Chrissy |

| Lewis and Brian Lewis; his four grandchildren, Gabrielle, A.J., | 2 |
| Maria, and John-Paul Lewis; his two brothers and | 3 |
| sisters-in-law, Tom and Jane Lewis, and Jim and Dee Lewis; his | 4 |
| sister and brother-in-law, Lorrainne and Mike Aubuchon; his | 5 |
| mother-in-law, Joan Paddock; and his sister-in-law and | 6 |
| brother-in-law, Barbara and Larry McCoy; therefore, be it
| 7 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 8 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 |
| his family, the passing of Spencer Lewis; and be it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the family of Spencer Lewis as a symbol of our | 12 |
| sympathy.
