SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of George A. Lavazza Sr. of Joliet, who
4 passed away on April 8, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, George A. Lavazza Sr. was born on April 21, 1930
6 in Joliet; his parents were Ambrose and Onesta (nee Aiazzi)
7 Lavazza; and
 
8     WHEREAS, George A. Lavazza Sr. was a 50 year member and
9 past president of the Laborers Union Local #75; he was the
10 founder and president of the Laborers Retiree's Club; he was a
11 member of the Joliet Moose Lodge, the Moran A.C., and the South
12 Side Civic Club; and
 
13     WHEREAS, George A. Lavazza Sr. was preceded in death by his
14 parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Kathryn
15 (nee Binzen) Oldani; his brother, J.R. Lavazza, and special
16 friends, Mike and Bernice Guglielmucci; and
 
17     WHEREAS, George A. Lavazza Sr. is survived by his wife of
18 57 years, Mary Theresa (nee Oldani) Lavazza; his children,
19 George A. (Debbie) Lavazza Jr., Kathryn Lucenti and Laura
20 (Jarek) Lucek; his grandchildren, Jenny Lavazza, Trish
21 (Justin) Maurer, Gina Pach, Chrissy Lavazza, Christopher

1 Lavazza, Sebastian Lucek, and Adam Lucek; his brothers, Phillip
2 (late Marie) Lavazza and Francis "Babe" (Delores) Lavazza; his
3 sister-in-law, Betty (late J.R.) Lavazza; his special friends,
4 Sue and Nick Grzetich, Linda and Dave Wills, and Mike and Kathy
5 Guglielmucci; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of George A. Lavazza Sr.;
9 and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of George A. Lavazza Sr. as an
12 expression of our sympathy.
