HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dave Garver of Danville on his retirement as pastor of Ridgeview Baptist Church on July 1, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Dave Garver has been a full-time pastor for 32 years; he has served as pastor at Ridgeview Baptist Church for 25 years; during his 25 years as pastor, he has gained a reputation as a tremendous people person and as an empathetic pastor who visits the ill and helps people with their problems; and

WHEREAS, Dave Garver is widely known for his involvement in community activities; he has been involved with the Center for Children's Services Board, the annual CROP Walk, the Sunrise Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, among others; he and his wife also enjoy Danville's cultural offerings, including the Symphony Orchestra, Arts in the Park, and Danville Dans games; and

WHEREAS, Dave Garver and his wife, Carol, have four children, Debbie (Chris) Peterson, Sarah (Bryan) Krall, Betsy (Devin) Schildt, and Emily Garver; and four grandchildren, with one on the way; and

WHEREAS, Dave Garver plans to continue his involvement in community activities and spend more time with his wife during his retirement; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dave Garver on his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dave Garver as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
