HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor the Jersey County Business Association on the occasion of the Association's 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Jerseyville Chamber of Commerce was founded on May 31, 1956; the organization changed its name to the Jersey County Chamber of Commerce in 1996; and on July 1, 2004, the Jersey County Chamber of Commerce and the Jersey County Economic Development Corporation merged together and became the Jersey County Business Association; and

WHEREAS, Today there is an all time membership high of 225 regular business members and 60 Ambassadors throughout Jersey County and surrounding counties; and

WHEREAS, The Jersey County Business Association is an important part of the economic stability of Jerseyville, Jersey County, and surrounding communities; the Association continues to work on many projects to improve the business community, including the expansion of Highway 67 from Jerseyville to Godfrey; and

WHEREAS, The Jersey County Business Association holds its annual banquet on January 18, 2007 at the Pere Marquette Lodge where the 2006 Valda Beach Business of the Year award will be presented; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the men and women who make up the Jersey County Business Association on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Julie Brangenberg, Chairperson of the Jersey County Business Association.
