HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the residents of the Village of Forsyth on the occasion of the village's 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth was incorporated on April 18, 1958; located at the geographical center of Illinois, Forsyth is a growing and vibrant community that boasts the area's lowest overall sales tax rate; the village also utilizes a comprehensive long-range plan to ensure successful business and residential growth; and

WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth has consistently been a leader in regional economic development and in the quality of its library services; the village has built and maintained modern and efficient municipal services, including a new $5.9 million water treatment plant; the village has also maintained over 10 beautiful parks, which contain over 10 miles of bike trails; and

WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth has held the Tree City USA designation since 1996; and

WHEREAS, The Village of Forsyth has shown itself to be a vibrant community that places a strong emphasis on family, recreation, education, and overall quality of life; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the residents of the Village of Forsyth on the occasion of the village's 50th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Village of Forsyth as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
