SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/14-14.05 new

Amends the Children with Disabilities Article of the School Code. Notwithstanding any other provision of the Article, provides that, beginning with Fiscal Year 2009, the State Board of Education shall reimburse school districts, other than the Chicago school district, for all costs incurred by those school districts for the education of children with disabilities. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 14-14.05 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/14-14.05 new)

Sec. 14-14.05. Full reimbursement for costs. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Article, beginning with Fiscal Year 2009, the State Board of Education shall reimburse school districts, other than a school district organized under Article 34 of this Code, for all costs incurred by those school districts for the education of children with disabilities.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
