SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
New Act

    Creates the Bisphenol A Products Act. Provides that no person shall sell, have, offer for sale, or transfer toys, furniture, clothing, accessories, jewelry, decorative objects, edible items, candy, food, dietary supplements, children's products, or other articles used by or intended to be chewable by children that contain bisphenol A. Provides that any person who violates the Act is guilty of a business offense punishable by a fine of $1,001 for each violation and each sale, offer for sale, or transfer in violation of the Act is a separate violation.

1     AN ACT concerning health.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Bisphenol A Products Act.
 
6     Section 5. Items containing bisphenol A. No person shall
7 sell, have, offer for sale, or transfer toys, furniture,
8 clothing, accessories, jewelry, decorative objects, edible
9 items, candy, food, dietary supplements, children's products,
10 or other articles used by or intended to be chewable by
11 children that contain bisphenol A.
 
12     Section 10. Violations of Act. Any person who violates
13 Section 5 of this Act is guilty of a business offense
14 punishable by a fine of $1,001 for each violation. Each sale,
15 offer for sale, or transfer in violation of Section 5 of this
16 Act is a separate violation.
