SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

225 ILCS 60/54.7 new

Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Provides that a physician licensed under the Act to practice medicine in all of its branches that practices in the area of plastic surgery must be directly affiliated with an accredited hospital or university.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by adding Section 54.7 as follows:

(225 ILCS 60/54.7 new)

Sec. 54.7. Physician practicing plastic surgery; affiliation with a hospital or university. A physician licensed under this Act to practice medicine in all of its branches that practices in the area of plastic surgery must be directly affiliated with an accredited hospital or university.
