Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning exclusive State powers or functions.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by changing Section 6 as follows:

(225 ILCS 60/6) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-6)

(Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2008)

Sec. 6. It is declared to be the the public policy of this State, pursuant to paragraphs (h) and (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970, that any power or function set forth in this Act to be exercised by the State is an exclusive State power or function. Such power or function shall not be exercised concurrently, either directly or indirectly, by any unit of local government, including home rule units, except as otherwise provided in this Act.
