SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

65 ILCS 5/11-1-11.5 new

Amends the Municipal Code. Provides that a municipality shall reimburse law enforcement agencies for public safety services provided by the law enforcement agency if the law enforcement agency does not have jurisdiction over the municipality.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding Section 11-1-11.5 as follows:

Sec. 11-1-11.5. Outside law enforcement compensation. A municipality shall reimburse law enforcement agencies, as defined by the Illinois Police Training Act, for public safety services provided by the law enforcement agency if the law enforcement agency does not have jurisdiction over the municipality.
