SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clifford Walter "Cliff" Lohnes of Pekin, who passed away on January 16, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Lohnes was born to Clifford and Loretta (Terrell) Lohnes in Pekin on May 11, 1948; he graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1966; he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, attaining the rank of sergeant; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Lohnes worked at Williams Bio Energy for 36 year, retiring on October 26, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Lohnes was a member of the St. John's Sand Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Lohnes enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors with projects and fixing things around his home; he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Lohnes was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Cliff Lohnes is survived by his mother; his son, Shawn (Judy) Lohnes; his grandchildren, Mallory Lohnes and Ethan Lohnes; his brother, Richard (Dianne) Lohnes; and his sister, Debbie Boyd; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clifford Walter "Cliff" Lohnes and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cliff Lohnes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
