SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 605/605-1110 new

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity shall establish a program to award rebates of up to $750 to individuals who purchase a low-speed electric bicycle. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning revenue.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 605-1110 as follows:

(20 ILCS 605/605-1110 new)

Sec. 605-1110. Rebate program for low-speed electric bicycles. Subject to appropriation for this purpose, the Department shall establish a program to award rebates of up to $750 to individuals who purchase a low-speed electric bicycle, as defined in Section 1-140.10 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
