SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David F. "Davey" Barten of Joliet, who
4passed away on March 17, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Barten was born in Joliet to Lester and
6Aadra (Schram) Barten on August 23, 1952; he was raised and
7educated in the Elwood/Manhattan areas and graduated from
8Joliet Township High School in 1970; he married Carol Glanek
9Forsythe on May 27, 2006; and
 
10    WHEREAS, David Barten worked as an electrician with Union
11Local IBEW #176 and retired on September 1, 2014 after 40 years
12of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, David Barten was a member of the Southside Civic
14Club, the Chaney Club, the Croatian Cultural Club, and was a
15lifetime member of the Moran AC; in his free time, he and Carol
16enjoyed traveling, especially to Ixtapa and Ft. Myers Beach; he
17was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears;
18he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, singing
19karaoke, and drinking a good cold beer; and
 
20    WHEREAS, David Barten was preceded in death by his parents
21and his brother, Roger Lee Barten; and

1    WHEREAS, David Barten is survived by his wife, Carol; his
2son, Tim Barten; his stepsons, Brad (Dr. Eddie Santoyo)
3Forsythe and Craig (Michelle Bandyk) Forsythe; his grandson,
4Jacob Barten; his stepson, Mike Brooks, his sister, Judy (Fred)
5Van Iten; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Margie (Larry)
6Kowalski, Josie (Stan) Snyder, and Joe (Joan) Glanek; and his
7many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11David F. "Davey" Barten and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of David Barten as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
