SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Senate is saddened to learn of the passing of Donald Lee "John" Mowery, Sr., of Anna on February 4, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was born March 14, 1935, in Mill Creek, the son of Lee and Edith (Ward) Mowery; he worked for E.T. Simonds Construction Company for more than 30 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 317 in West Frankfort; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mowery was a veteran of the United States Army; he was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek, the Anna Moose Lodge 1346, Marion Elks Lodge, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, and the Union County Farm Bureau; and

WHEREAS, His death will be deeply felt by all who know him, especially by his four children, Rita Laminack and husband, Allen, Rose Haynes and husband, Ray, Donald Mowery Jr., and Rhonda Davis and husband, John; his eight grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his five sisters, Bernette Starks, Lula Mae Manus and husband, Bob, Joyce Middleton, Norma Stamp and husband, Donald, and Delores Browning and husband, Harlan; his special friends, Marcella Johnson and Vera Phelps; and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Donald Lee "John" Mowery, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Lee "John" Mowery, Sr., as an expression of our sympathy.
