SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Stella Nadine Phillips of Zeigler on April 24, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Phillips was born December 28, 1931, in Makanda, to Vern and Beulah (Tanner) Garner; and

WHEREAS, She married Ted Phillips on February 2, 1957, in Corinth, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of the Zeigler American Legion and Zeigler Eagles Auxiliaries; she was of the Protestant faith; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carroll Eugene Garner; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Stella Nadine Phillips is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Ted; her daughter, Karen S. Phillips; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Garner and Martha Bubanovich; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stella Nadine Phillips and extend our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
