HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Scott Mammoser, an eighth grader at Newton St.
3 Thomas Grade School, set the State record in the Boys Class A
4 I.E.S.A. State track meet at East Peoria on May 13, 2005, by
5 clearing a height of 11 feet 10 inches in the eighth grade boys
6 pole vault; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Scott also made history in the I.E.S.A. State
8 Track meet competition by becoming the first boy ever to win
9 the same event four years in a row; he won the seventh grade
10 pole vault in 2002, when he was in the 5th grade, by vaulting 8
11 foot 11 inches; in 2003, as a sixth grader, he again won the
12 seventh grade pole vault competition by clearing 9 foot 4
13 inches; in 2004, as a seventh grader, he won the event by
14 vaulting 10 feet 4 inches; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Scott has never lost a competition in the pole
16 vault in the four years that he has been competing; he is a
17 very hard working and determined individual; he had set his
18 goal at the beginning of the year not just to win the pole
19 vault, but to set a new State mark; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was also the leading scorer on the St. Thomas
21 Basketball team that placed fourth in the I.E.S.A. State
22 basketball tournament in 2004, and he finished this year with
23 the highest G.P.A. in his class; and
 
24     WHEREAS, Scott (age 14) is the second of four children and
25 is the son of Pat and Peggy Mammoser; therefore, be it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Scott Mammoser on setting the State record for
29 the pole vault in the Boys Class A I.E.S.A. State track meet,
30 and we commend him for his hard work and dedication to success;

2     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Scott Mammoser as an expression of our respect and
4 esteem and with best wishes for success in all of his future
5 endeavors.
