HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to congratulate Spahn & Rose Lumber Company on the occasion of the celebration of its 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Throughout 2004, Spahn & Rose has conducted its "Celebrating a Century of Tradition" program to recognize the people of its coverage area, to thank communities that have supported the company for the past 100 years, and to recognize the role Spahn & Rose has played in community history; and

WHEREAS, Headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa, Spahn & Rose has been in business since 1904 when it was started by five inspired young men - C.J. Spahn, G.D. Rose, Jim Carr, John T. Adams, and J.C. Collier; Spahn & Rose now has 26 locations located in three states; and

WHEREAS, The company's product line has expanded significantly to include engineered lumber, fiberglass insulation, drywall, siding, a much larger variety of millwork, hardware items, and much, much more; and

WHEREAS, The Spahn & Rose stores in Warren and Pearl City stand as a part of the key to continued growth and success; other Illinois stores are located in Stockton, Morrison, and Mount Carroll; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, Spahn & Rose has relied on time-tested methods of doing business, focusing on customer needs and delivering products and services that generate long-term trust and reliability; that company policy is rule number one; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Spahn & Rose Lumber Company on the occasion of the celebration of its 100th anniversary and we wish the owners and staff many more successful and rewarding years in business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Spahn & Rose Lumber Company.
