HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Mr. Timothy Harrington of Waukegan is retiring from his position as President and Chief Executive Officer of Victory Health Services, the parent company of Vista Health, a joint operating company which includes Victory Memorial Hospital and Saint Therese Medical Center; and

WHEREAS, He began his work with the Victory Memorial Hospital in 1988 as President and Chief Executive Officer; he also became president of Victory's parent corporation, Victory Health Services, in 1989; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer, he has developed numerous programs and services, including the HealthReach Clinic in Waukegan, the Mecca Clinic in Lake County, and Vista Health in Waukegan, which is a joint operating company joining Victory Memorial Hospital and Saint Therese Medical Center into one organization; and

WHEREAS, Prior to coming to Illinois, he was President of Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as Executive Vice President of St. Joseph Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Harrington is a current member of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives; he is a board member of the Illinois Hospital Association, the Chicago Hospital Risk Pooling Program, Vista Health, and Victory Health Services; and

WHEREAS, He valiantly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 and received an honorable discharge; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Harrington is a graduate of the program in Health Services Management and holds a Master of Science Degree from the University of Missouri; he also holds a B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Harrington has four children, and he and his wife reside in Waukegan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mr. Timothy Harrington on the occasion of his retirement from Victory Health Services, and we wish him well in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Harrington as an expression of our respect and esteem and with best wishes for an enjoyable retirement.
