HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Robert Chiszar, a 30-year resident of the Village of Mokena, has served the Village as a public official for 24 years; he was first elected as a Village Trustee in 1981 and served in that capacity for 16 years; he was then elected as President of the Village of Mokena in 1997 and has served in this capacity for two terms, completing his second term in April of 2005; and

WHEREAS, Among his many achievements are the delivery of Lake Michigan water, wastewater treatment plant expansions, Police Department facilities, road and interchange improvements, the implementation of a sales tax increase utilized for road improvements, residential developments, and downtown business area development; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Robert Chiszar has chosen to retire from public office as of May 9, 2005; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mayor Chiszar on the occasion of his retirement, and we thank him for his many years of devoted service to the citizens of the Village of Mokena; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Chiszar as an expression of our respect and esteem.
