HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives offer our sincere appreciation to Janet Muchnik for her many years of service as Park Forest Village Manager; and

WHEREAS, Janet has served as Village Manager since 1995 and as Village Trustee from 1984 to 1988; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure as Village Manager, she began the transformation of the Park Forest Centre into a traditional downtown; as a result of her efforts, the downtown received the Burnham Award; and

WHEREAS, As a strong supporter of the arts, she also incorporated the local art organizations as a vital part of the new downtown; and

WHEREAS, She served as Rotary President in 2003, past president of Diversity, Inc., and was a recipient of the Abbey Foundation's Women Together Award; and

WHEREAS, We recognize her service to Park Forest and salute her dedication to improving the downtown; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we do hereby offer our congratulations to Janet Muchnik on her retirement and express our gratitude for her many years of public service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Janet Muchnik as an expression of our esteem.
