HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Thomas M. Graber is world famous in the field of orthodontics; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Graber began his teaching career in 1946 at Northwestern University; and

WHEREAS, From 1969 to 1982, he was the Head of Orthodontics at the University of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Since 1994 he has been teaching at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Graber has given more than 450 continuing education courses around the world; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Graber has given more lectures on American Association of Orthodontists annual programs than any other person in history; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Graber has founded many associations and councils in the fields of dentistry and orthodontics; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Graber is an generous philanthropist, having endowed a Professorship at the University of Michigan and contributed to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry; and

WHEREAS, At the age of 89, Dr. Graber has not slowed down his commitment to the field of orthodontics and is an inspiration to all of us; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our congratulations to Dr. Thomas M. Graber for being named as the winner of the 2006 Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame in the Education Category; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Thomas M. Graber as an expression of our esteem.
