1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, Illinois is a leader in all businesses and
3 industries; and

4     WHEREAS, Information technology plays an important role in
5 this State in business, State government, and education; and

6     WHEREAS, The impact of information technology on society is
7 more important now than ever; and

8     WHEREAS, All sectors of society in this State benefit when
9 information can move at the speed of light; therefore, be it

10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12 the House of Representatives recommends that the Governor name
13 an Illinois Technology Czar to coordinate State government
14 information technology, create a better State information
15 technology infrastructure, and recommend to the Governor and to
16 the General Assembly important technological changes within
17 State government; and be it further

18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 delivered to the Governor.
