HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, James M. Coogan was recently named the first recipient of the Doctor Thomas P. Driscoll Memorial Award given by Leo High School; and

WHEREAS, No Leo High School man in the past 50 years was better known than Doctor Thomas P. "Doc" Driscoll; he was a top student and generous financial supporter of the school's causes, team physician to countless Leo families, and provider of numerous scholarships to deserving young men; he loved Leo High School and set an example for all of its students and alumni to emulate; and

WHEREAS, James M. Coogan from the class of 1944 truly emulates Doc's love of Leo High School; he was a classmate and a true friend of Doc's for over 50 years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Coogan has served for many years as an Alumni Association Director; he worked with Doc as a part of the greatest Leo Alumni ad book sales team and had always answered the call to serve Leo and its causes; and

WHEREAS, In recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the Leo Alumni Association, he was named the first recipient of the Driscoll Award; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate James M. Coogan on being the first recipient of the Doctor Thomas P. Driscoll Memorial Award given by Leo High School; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Coogan as an expression of our esteem.
