HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Dennis
4 "Denny" Burrell of Mattoon on Thursday, April 6, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Burrell was born on February 11, 1943, in
6 Mattoon to Leonard and Marjorie (Carter) Burrell; he married
7 Vicki David on December 26, 1990; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was vice president of Coles Together; he was
9 formerly employed with ICTC of Mattoon and GTE Telephone
10 Company in Georgia and Florida; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Mattoon Kiwanis Club,
12 Mattoon High School Booster Club, former president of The
13 Mattoon Letterman's Club, and member of the Letterman's Club
14 Hall of Fame; he was also a longtime coach and supporter of
15 Mattoon Youth Baseball and Football and an avid fan of the
16 Cardinals baseball team; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Co-workers remember him as hardworking and
18 willing to let others be in the spotlight; he was persistent
19 and likeable and was devoted to his family and community; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The passing of Dennis "Denny" Burrell has been
21 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Vicki; his children,
22 Wendi Haslett, Steve Burrell, Bryan Burrell and wife Krista,
23 and Dustin David; his brothers, Bill Burrell and wife Sheila
24 and Chris Burrell and wife Barb; his sister, Karen White and
25 husband David; and his former wife and mother of Wendi, Steve,
26 and Bryan, Carolyn Burrell; his parents and two brothers
27 preceded him in death; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we mourn the passing of Dennis "Denny" Burrell, and we extend
2 our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew
3 and loved him; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
6 condolences.
