HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Apostle Florida M. Jackson is the pastor of Evangelistic Outreach Deliverance Ministry #1 in Chicago, #3 in Bolingbrook, and overseer of several others; for over a decade, she has served as a licensed foster parent working with special needs children, some with medical disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Jackson is the CEO of Johnnia and Katie Stevens/Mary and Bo Jackson Outreach Services in Sardis, Mississippi; Youth of Outreach Daycare Center in Sardis, Mississippi; Johnnia and Katie Stevens Home Health Care, Inc., in Chicago; Outreach Family Services and Community Center in Chicago; and Youth of Outreach in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, She accepted the call to be an evangelist in 1985 and worked faithfully in the ministry as a dedicated youth counselor/trainer, which required that she train and counsel young people who were imprisoned, homeless, hopeless, or underprivileged; the training she provided consisted of coping strategies, encouragement to pursue higher education, instilling in them the principles of Christianity, and the motivation they needed to lead a successful natural and Christian life; and

WHEREAS, In June of 1990, she accepted the call to be ordained as the Pastor of the Evangelistic Outreach Deliverance Ministry; in 1993, she had the vision to open a community center that served not only youth, but the entire family; and

WHEREAS, She received a Doctor of Divinity degree in August of 2003; she has three adopted children now over the age of 18, one adopted miracle daughter, Johnnia, and another adopted daughter that is age 17; she is the grandmother of Devin, Jennifer, Jeannette, Jamese Florida, and Darin and has been married for 31 years to Elder Rufus Jackson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Apostle Florida M. Jackson, D.D., for her many years of selfless devotion to serving the needs of others; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Jackson as an expression of our esteem.
