SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kermit T. "Bud" Stevenson Jr. of
4Moline, who passed away on June 12, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson was born to Kermit "Jiggs" and
6Sylvia (Spence) Stevenson Sr. in Rock Island on January 9,
71943; his mother passed away shortly after childbirth, and he
8was raised by his father and stepmother Ada; he served in the
9U.S. Army; he married Linda Briseno at Gloria Day Church in
10Rock Island on September 25, 1971; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson worked for International Harvester
12Farmall in Rock Island for 23 years; after the closing of
13Farmall, he and his wife owned and operated Stevenson Cleaning
14and Painting; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson was a Boy Scout Leader; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson enjoyed working in his yard and
17received two awards from the city of Rock Island for lawn
18beautification; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping,
20and hiking; he and his family loved traveling to the Wisconsin

1Dells and their annual Father's Day trips to Galena; he ran in
2several local 5K and 10K races and enjoyed collecting frogs;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson is survived by his wife, Linda; his
5children, Kermit "Tom" (Krista) Stevenson III and Kim
6Stevenson (Mike Sersland); his grandchildren, Violet Stevenson
7and Alyssa Nunes; his great-granddaughter, Brinlee; his
8great-granddaughter on the way; and his sister, Julie (Lyle)
9Wadsager; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Kermit T. "Bud" Stevenson Jr. and extend our sincere
13condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bud Stevenson as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
