HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish
3to congratulate Keith Swartzentruber on his retirement as
4executive director of the Snyder Village after 34 years of
5dedicated work and nearly two decades as executive director;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber was born and raised in
8Indianapolis by his parents, Melvin and Mary Swartzentruber,
9with his sisters, Lynette and Sheila; he and his family moved
10to Illinois in 1976; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber graduated Summa Cum Laude
12from Illinois State University, where he majored in
13organizational management and minored in business
14administration and speech communication; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber began his career at Maple
16Lawn Homes, where he served in various roles, most notably as
17assistant administrator; he managed seven community-based
18senior service programs and was entrusted with evaluating
19staff performance and hiring; he developed and implemented
20seven community-based senior service programs and provided
21seminars and workshops on aging; he also wrote and co-authored
22successful government grants and foundation proposals; and

1    WHEREAS, In 1988, Keith Swartzentruber was involved in the
2creation of Snyder Village, a community-based nonprofit
3facility; he was entrusted with hiring of staff, budgeting,
4licensure, program development, marketing, sales, resident
5admissions, fund raising, and community relations; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Under Keith Swartzentruber's leadership, Snyder
7Village developed into a superior provider of services for
8seniors and a facility of choice for families in Central
9Illinois; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber and his wife, Sandy, have
11three adult children, Tyler, Levi, and Allison, and seven
12grandchildren, Elijah, Devery, Geordie, Ron, Eliana, Vanek,
13and Ian; he is an active member of Germantown Hills Baptist
14Church; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we congratulate Keith Swartzentruber on his retirement as
18executive director of the Snyder Village and recognize the
19important achievements and significant contributions he made
20for so many seniors through his leadership at Snyder Village,
21making it one of the premier senior nursing home facilities in
22Illinois; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to Keith Swartzentruber as a symbol of our respect
3and esteem.
