HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeanne
4Hebeisen of Elgin, who passed away on November 13, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen was born to Lee and Emily
6(Johanek) Northcliffe on April 21, 1927; she earned her
7bachelor's degree in Math from the University of Wisconsin;
8she later returned to school to earn a degree in Computer
9Science; she married Neil Hebeisen in 1950; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen worked in her husband's law
11practice while her children were young, briefly taught math at
12Elgin Community College, and then had a career as a systems
13analyst at Safety-Kleen; when times were lean, she took a
14second job at night with an answering service in order to earn
15supplemental income; and
 
16    WHEREAS, After retirement, Jeanne Hebeisen volunteered for
17a number of organizations, including the American Association
18of University Women (AAUW), the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Head
19Start, and the YWCA; she also read to children in elementary
20schools and wrote the AAUW newsletter and the Elgin Symphony
21League treasurer report; she received several awards for her
22volunteer work over the years; and

1    WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen enjoyed gardening, creating
2custom cards for birthdays, traveling, playing the piano,
3reading her way through piles of old newspapers, magazines,
4and books stacked around her house, painting her house, and
5spoiling her grandchildren; she was a huge sports fan and
6rarely missed a Chicago Cubs game or any of the University of
7Wisconsin basketball or football games; she regularly attended
8Elgin Symphony concerts, Goodman Theater productions, and
9Great Books discussions; she was an avid fan of PBS,
10particularly Masterpiece Theater and Mystery; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen is survived by her children,
12Cheryl, Keith, Jill, Nancy, Julie, and Brian; her
13grandchildren, David, Gregor, Melanie, Ken, Travis, and
14Marina; her great-grandchildren, Noah and Sasha; her chosen
15grandchildren, John and Matt; her chosen daughter, Linda; her
16numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Starr; therefore, be
17it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we mourn the passing of Jeanne Hebeisen and extend our sincere
21condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
22her; and be it further

3our deepest sympathy.
