HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Alfred W. Burnett Jr. of Peoria, who passed away on December 6, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Burnett was born in Peoria to Alfred W. and Juanita A. (Trigg) Burnett Sr. on March 3, 1946; he married Cathleen Ann "Cathy" Barden on March 3, 1966; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Burnett worked as a pipefitter for Caterpillar for over four decades; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Burnett worked closely with American Legion Post #2 beginning in 2010; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Burnett was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy, and his siblings, Robert, John (Marsha), and Raymond Burnett; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Burnett is survived by his daughter, Tammy Burnett; his siblings, Eva Burnett, Phil Burnett, and Sharon Cooley; and his daughter's pets, Chip and Dale; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Alfred W. Burnett Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alfred Burnett as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
