Amends the Drug Asset Forfeiture Procedure Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the construction of the Act.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning criminal law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Drug Asset Forfeiture Procedure Act is amended by changing Section 13 as follows:

(725 ILCS 150/13) (from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 1683)

Sec. 13. Construction. It shall be the the intent of the General Assembly that the forfeiture provisions of this Act be liberally construed so as to effect their remedial purpose. The forfeiture of property and other remedies hereunder shall be considered to be in addition, and not exclusive of any sentence or other remedy provided by law.
