SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Santa DeMarini of
4 Bartonville on November 26, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born February 3, 1919 to Sante and Adela
6 Pesaresi DeMarini in Orchard Mines; he married Kathleen "Kay"
7 Looney on November 27, 1947 in Postville, Iowa; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was former owner of the Checkerboard Tavern in
9 Orchard Mines and Bartonville Liquor Store & Tap, retiring in
10 1981; after his retirement, he worked part-time with the
11 Illinois Department of Transportation; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Illinois State Liquor
13 Dealers' Association; he was a charter member of the
14 Bartonville Lions Club and past district governor in Illinois
15 for the Lions Club District 1H; he was a former member of the
16 Bartonville Duck Club and member of Hanna City Sportsmen's
17 Club; he was past Republican party precinct committeeman; he
18 was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bartonville;
19 and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by four sisters and one
21 brother; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his sons,
23 Dr. David, Dr. Thomas (and Paula), Dennis, and Dr. Douglas (and
24 Patricia); his grandchildren and step-grandchildren;
25 therefore, be it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
28 Santa DeMarini and we extend to his family our thoughts and
29 prayers during this difficult time; and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
