SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Donna Kay Zippay of Mt.
4 Olive on September 19, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born December 11, 1938, a daughter of Carl
6 and Evelyn Hansen Roehl; and
 
7     WHEREAS, She attended Mt. Olive Grade School and was a 1956
8 graduate of Mt. Olive High School; she married Michael Allan
9 Zippay on February 27, 1960 at the Church of The Ascension in
10 Mt. Olive; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She owned and operated Donna Kay's Clothing Store
12 in Mt. Olive for nine years; she was later employed for nine
13 years as the manager of Fanco Convenience Store in Mt. Olive;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was a member of the Church of The Ascension,
16 Ascension Altar and Rosary Society and Ascension Quilters,
17 Croatian Lodge, Benld, Illinois, Mt. Olive Turner Hall,
18 Macoupin County Women's Democrat Club, and Royal Neighbors; she
19 enjoyed playing bingo and card clubs; and
 
20     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, Carl
21 Roehl, and her mother, Evelyn Hansen Goldacker; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Donna Kay Zippay will be felt by
23 all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Michael
24 Allan Zippay, Sr.; her son, Michael Allan Zippay, Jr., and his
25 wife Sandy; her three daughters, Michele Zippay, Mary Subick
26 and her husband Mark, and Melinda Zippay; her six
27 grandchildren, Michael Allan Zippay III, Tiffany Zippay,
28 Mitchell Zippay, Colin Subick, Jenna Subick, and Dylan Zippay;
29 and her uncle, Raymond "Zack" Hix; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Donna Kay Zippay and extend our sincerest condolences to her
4 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Donna Kay Zippay as an expression of
7 our deepest sympathy.
