SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Edwin H. Callison Sr. of
4 Belleville at the age of 74 on October 15, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born July 31, 1930 in East St. Louis, the
6 son of Olin H. and Louis B. Callison; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He was president of Callison Wholesale Liquor
8 Company in Belleville, and was a longtime board member of The
9 Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America and The Wine and
10 Spirits Distributors of Illinois; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1948,
12 and attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a
13 member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was an Army veteran who served during the
15 Korean Conflict; he served as a first lieutenant from 1951 to
16 1954 in the field artillery; he then served in the Reserve from
17 1954 to 1967, attaining the rank of major; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a member of the St. Clair Lodge 24 A.F. &
19 A.M.; Scottish Rite Bodies; Ainad Shrine; Belleville Rotary;
20 Elks Lodge BPOE 481; St. Clair Country Club; and Wyndemere
21 Country Club in Naples, Florida; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn S.
23 Callison; and his parents, Olin H. and Louis B. Callison; and
 
24     WHEREAS, The passing of Edwin H. Callison Sr. will be felt
25 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Shirley W.
26 Callison; his son, Edwin H. (Allyson) Callison Jr.; his
27 brother, William B. (Nancy) Callison; and his grandchildren,
28 Hamilton, Anne and Cary Callison; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Edwin H. Callison Sr. and extend our sincerest condolences to
4 his family, friends and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Edwin H. Callison Sr. as a token of
7 our deepest sympathy.
