SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Clara McKinley on August 4, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Ms. McKinley was born on February 20, 1917 in Lonoke, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, She was known to many people as Mama Clara; a loving and devoted mother to her two daughters, she unselfishly helped them to raise their children; she went on to help her grandchildren raise their children; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Clara McKinley has been deeply felt by many, especially her daughter, Charliemae; her grandchildren, Cheryl (Garry), Francine, Jerry (Denean), Karen, Kermit, Kevin (Christine), and LaTonya; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brittney, Relando, Jevon, Jamal, Jason, Mison, Tiny Rose, Ramon, LaQuay, Kevon, Maurice, Jaronica, and Jotonya; and her great-great-grandchildren, Jordan, Seth, Jalina, and Mison, Jr.; her daughter, Rosalee, preceded her in death; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clara McKinley, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clara McKinley as an expression of our sincere condolences.
