SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Paul C. Sauget of Sauget on May 11, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Sauget was born on June 21, 1925 in Sauget; he served as mayor for 34 years of the village that bears his family name; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the East Lodge 504 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois, and the Ainad Temple; he was also a Korean War United States Army veteran; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Paul Sauget will be deeply felt by many, especially his four daughters, Diane L. (Roger) Hackett, Yvonne (David) Schutzenhofer, Suzanne M. (Joseph) Riva, and Linda C. (Eddie) Robeson; his sisters, Marguerite Mischke and Antoinette Taylor; his three grandchildren, Patricia Riva, Eric Robeson, and Katelyn Robeson; and his friend, Gwendolyn Main; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Louise (nee Adele) Sauget; his two brothers, Vincent and Richard Sauget; and a nephew, Vincent Sauget; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Paul C. Sauget along with all who knew and loved him and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Sauget as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
