| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Marylee Carpentier of East |
| 4 |
| Moline on Saturday, February 7, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Marylee Morehart was born on July 2, 1931 in |
| 6 |
| Colorado Springs, Colorado to Lee and Julia (McMichael) |
| 7 |
| Morehart; she married Donald D. Carpentier on August 24, 1950 |
| 8 |
| in Moline; he preceded her in death on October 19, 1982; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Carpentier retired on December 31, 2002 from |
| 10 |
| the Illinois State Police, where she had worked as an |
| 11 |
| administrative secretary; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Carpentier was a member of the East Moline |
| 13 |
| Junior Women's Club and the Republican Women of Rock Island |
| 14 |
| County; she was a proud American and a proud Republican; she |
| 15 |
| was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan; she enjoyed knitting and |
| 16 |
| especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; |
| 17 |
| and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Marylee Carpentier has been deeply |
| 19 |
| felt by many, especially her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan |
| 20 |
| J. Carpentier; Jane A. Carpentier; Liz and Col. Mark Douglas, |
| 21 |
| and Christine and Dr. Alan Perfilio; her son and |
| 22 |
| daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Pamela Carpentier; her 5 |
| 23 |
| grandchildren; her brother, Richard Morehart; and her |
| 24 |
| cherished friends, Michelle Welling and Nancy Fiems; |
| 25 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 27 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 28 |
| Marylee Carpentier, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
| 29 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
