 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were saddened to learn of the death of Charliene M.
 4    Napier of Litchfield on January 4, 2003 at 81 years  of  age;
 5    and

 6        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Napier  was  born  on October 31, 1921 in
 7    Nokomis, the daughter of Charles and Agnes  Hicks  Nicholson;
 8    she married Charles A. Napier Jr. in 1940; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Napier  graduated  from  Litchfield  High
10    School  in  1939;  she  was  a partner at Napier Plumbing and
11    Heating; she also worked in the office of Dr.  J.R.  Rebillot
12    and for the State of Illinois, office of the governor; and

13        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Napier  was  a  member  of  Union  Avenue
14    Christian  Church  and  past  member  of Order of the Eastern
15    Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary; and

16        WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by  her  friends
17    and  family,  especially her son, Charles "Chuck" Napier III;
18    her stepbrother, Virgil Dyer; and her great-aunt; and

19        WHEREAS, She  was  preceded  in  death  by  her  husband,
20    Charles, in 1992; therefore, be it

21        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
22    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
23    Charliene M. Napier, along with all who knew and  loved  her,
24    and extend our sincere condolences to her friends and family;
25    and be it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to the family of Charliene M. Napier.
