 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Melvin
 4    C. "Bud" Hasty of Peoria on Friday, June 13, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Hasty was born December 7, 1926, in Peoria
 6    to Milton and Mildred White Hasty; he married Betty D. Dobson
 7    on January 11, 1947; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Hasty valiantly served  his  country  during
 9    World  War  II  in  the  U.S. Navy; he worked for the City of
10    Peoria in the street department for 8 years; he  went  on  to
11    work  for Laborers Local 165 for 38 years; he retired in 1992
12    as a business manager; and

13        WHEREAS, Mr. Hasty was a member of Laborers Local 309  in
14    Rock  Island  and  a  former  member of Laborers Local 165 in
15    Peoria; he was a member of the Moose Lodge in Peoria; and

16        WHEREAS, The passing of Melvin Hasty has been deeply felt
17    by many, especially his wife, Betty; his  son,  Gregory  (and
18    Patsy);   his   daughter,   Vonee   (and  Ed)  Nolan;  his  5
19    grandchildren; and his 8 great-grandchildren;  therefore,  be
20    it

21        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
22    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the  passing
23    of Melvin C. "Bud" Hasty and offer his family and friends our
24    sincere condolences; and be it further

25        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
26    presented to the family  of  Melvin  C.  "Bud"  Hasty  as  an
27    expression of our deepest sympathy.
