 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to  learn of the death of Denice H.
 4    Wright of Granite City on Saturday, March 15, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mrs. Wright was born on May 22, 1928 in  Granite
 6    City  to  Charles  and  Gladys  (Thomas)  Hagan;  she married
 7    Milburn Wright on August 22, 1962 in Granite City; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mrs. Wright was employed for 42 years  at  Union
 9    Electric  in Venice as an administrative secretary; she later
10    worked for the United Way; she was a member of First  Baptist
11    Church  in Granite City, and she will be remembered as always
12    wanting to make sure the hungry were fed; and

13        WHEREAS, Mrs. Wright  had  served  as  chairman  for  the
14    Community  Care  Center  for  the  past  12  years; she began
15    volunteering at the center in  the  early  1980s;  under  her
16    direction,  the  center  moved to a new facility and expanded
17    its programs; in 1998, the center received a Governor's  Home
18    Town  Award;  she  and  the  center  received  the Chamber of
19    Commerce of Southwestern Madison  County's  Quality  of  Life
20    Award for Community Enhancement in September of 2002; and

21        WHEREAS,  The  passing  of  Denice Wright has been deeply
22    felt by many, especially her  husband,  Milburn  Wright;  her
23    sister, Janet (Richard) Vansyoc; her niece, Janice Davis; and
24    her  three  nephews,  David  Vansyoc, Ron Vansyoc, and Kurtis
25    Vansyoc; therefore, be it

26        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
27    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
28    of Denice H. Wright and extend to her  family,  friends,  and
29    all  who  knew  and loved her our deepest sympathy; and be it
30    further

31        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be

 1    presented  to the family of Denice H. Wright as an expression
 2    of our sincerest condolences.
