 1        AN ACT concerning nurses.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act
 5    is amended by adding Sections 20-31 and 20-32 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 65/20-31 new)
 7        (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2008)
 8        Sec. 20-31.  Licensure requirements; internet site.   The
 9    Department   shall   make   available   to   the  public  the
10    requirements for licensure in  English  and  Spanish  on  the
11    internet  through the Department's World Wide Web site.  This
12    information shall include the requirements for  licensure  of
13    individuals  currently residing in another state or territory
14    of the United States or  a  foreign  country,  territory,  or
15    province.   The  Department shall establish an e-mail link to
16    the  Department  for  information  on  the  requirements  for
17    licensure, with replies available in English and Spanish.

20        Sec. 20-32.  Educational resources; internet  link.   The
21    Department  shall  work  with  the  Board of Nursing, the APN
22    Board, the Board of Higher Education,  the  Illinois  Student
23    Assistance    Commission,    Statewide   organizations,   and
24    community-based  organizations   to   develop   a   list   of
25    Department-approved  nursing  programs  and other educational
26    resources related  to  the  Test  of  English  as  a  Foreign
27    Language  and  the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing
28    Schools Examination.  The Department shall provide a link  to
29    a  list  of  these  resources, in English and Spanish, on the
30    Department's World Wide Web site.
