 1        AN ACT in relation to education.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  School  Code  is  amended  by  changing
 5    Section 5-13 as follows:

 6        (105 ILCS 5/5-13) (from Ch. 122, par. 5-13)
 7        Sec. 5-13. Term  of  office  of  trustees.  In  townships
 8    already  organized,  the  school  trustee shall be elected in
 9    each odd numbered year for a term of 6 years to  succeed  the
10    trustee whose term expires in that such odd numbered year.
11        The  first-elected trustees in a newly organized township
12    shall at their first meeting cast lots for  their  respective
13    terms  of  office,  for  2,  4  and 6 years; and thereafter 1
14    trustee shall be elected in each odd-numbered year.
