 1        AN ACT in relation to governmental ethics.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Illinois  Governmental  Ethics  Act  is
 5    amended by changing Section 1-104 as follows:

 6        (5 ILCS 420/1-104) (from Ch. 127, par. 601-104)
 7        Sec.  1-104.  Compensation.   "Compensation"  means   any
 8    money,  thing  of value, or economic benefit conferred on, or
 9    received by, any person in return for services  rendered,  or
10    to be rendered, by himself or another.
