 1        AN ACT in relation to public health.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Automated External  Defibrillator  Act  is
 5    amended by adding  Section 35 as follows:

 6        (410 ILCS 4/35 new)
 7        Sec.  35.  Schools.  Every  public  elementary school and
 8    every public secondary school in  this  State  must  have  at
 9    least  one  automated  external  defibrillator  in the school
10    building, located in a common area of the building.

11        Section 99. Effective date.  This  Act  takes  effect  on
12    January 1, 2004.
