| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to honor organizations in the |
| 4 |
| State that are known as outstanding institutions; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Silver Cross |
| 6 |
| Hospital, located in Will County, was named one of the nation's |
| 7 |
| top performance improvement leader hospitals by Solucient, a |
| 8 |
| leading provider of strategic business and clinical |
| 9 |
| information for the health care industry; findings from the |
| 10 |
| first edition on Solucient's 100 Top Hospitals: Performance |
| 11 |
| Improvement Leaders study appeared in the March 15, 2004 |
| 12 |
| edition of Modern Healthcare magazine; Silver Cross is one of |
| 13 |
| only four such hospitals in Illinois and one of 100 in the |
| 14 |
| country; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The hospital was recognized for developing |
| 16 |
| consistent and effective organization-wide performance |
| 17 |
| improvements at a faster rate than most hospitals between 1997 |
| 18 |
| and 2001; the hospital has also been recognized for exceptional |
| 19 |
| service by Press, Ganey, a national patient satisfaction |
| 20 |
| research company, and Chicagoland Consumers' Checkbook, an |
| 21 |
| independent consumer research company; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Silver Cross Hospital opened in 1895 and has been |
| 23 |
| caring for patients for more than a century; since its opening |
| 24 |
| in 1895, Silver Cross has expanded its facilities and services |
| 25 |
| in many ways to better meet the needs of the communities it |
| 26 |
| serves; today, the hospital employs a team of 400 physicians, |
| 27 |
| 1,600 employees, and 550 volunteers; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 29 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 30 |
| congratulate Paul Pawlak, President and CEO of Silver Cross |
| 31 |
| Hospital, and Greg Repetti, CFO of Silver Cross Hospital, on |
