HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Paul T. McCarthy for his 22 years of outstanding service as Village Manager of the Village of Glenview; and

WHEREAS, Mr. McCarthy has spent 33 years in public service; he earned an M.A. in Public Administration from Penn State University; he served as Assistant Village Manager for Naperville, and as Village Manager of Springfield, Vermont, and Ocean City, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, Under his leadership, the Village of Glenview has achieved and maintained Moody's highest bond rating, AAA; he oversaw the successful redevelopment of the Naval Air State-Glenview into a nationally recognized and award winning mixed-use development; he successfully purchased 2 privately owned water companies, oversaw the construction of 2 affordable senior housing developments, incorporated a fire protection district, which eliminated double taxation, and served under 4 Village Presidents and 31 Village Trustees; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Paul T. McCarthy for his 22 years of outstanding service as Village Manager of the Village of Glenview; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Paul T. McCarthy as an expression of our respect and esteem.
