HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to recognize the Charleston Gun Club for its many years of existence; and

WHEREAS, The Charleston Gun Club was founded sometime in the 1940s; it was recognized as a non-profit organization 1953; the original location of the Gun Club was east of the current Charleston High School; the current location is 4 miles south of Charleston, off of Lincoln Highway; the group has been in that location since 1953; and

WHEREAS, During its existence, there has never been a fire arm related accident at the Gun Club; in 1981, Jackie Bolin, a woman, was on the winning skeet team; this was the first time in the Club's history for a woman to be a member of a winning team; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Charleston Gun Club on its many years of existence and accident-free history; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Charleston Gun Club as an expression of our respect and esteem.
